Somebody told you to start using Asteria Cloud. This guide explains what it is, what it can do for you, and how to get there without learning a single technical term you do not need.
What Asteria Cloud actually is
Asteria Cloud is a place where you describe a job in plain language and an assistant does the legwork. That assistant is called Asteria.
Asteria is not a search box and it is not autocomplete. You give it a task ("read these twelve supplier contracts and tell me which ones renew before June") and it goes and does the reading, then comes back with an answer you can check. When the job produces something (a document, a deck, a spreadsheet, a chart) it hands you the finished file.
The important part: you direct, it does the legwork. You stay the one who decides what matters and whether the answer is right. Asteria is not making decisions for you, and it is not infallible. Every answer is something you should be able to spot-check, which is why it tells you where its information came from.
Asteria can make mistakes. For anything that matters (a number in a board pack, a clause in a contract), open the source it cites and confirm. The app says this under every message for a reason.

Reading things nobody has time to read
Drop a year of reports, contracts or survey exports into a collection and ask questions of the whole pile at once.
Turning a mess into a deliverable
A spreadsheet and a rough brief go in. A written summary, a deck or a clean workbook comes out, and you can edit it in place.
The same job, every week, without you
Anything you find yourself doing every Monday can be set up once and left to run.

How to read this guide
If you have five minutes, do the quick start. It gets you to a useful answer and nothing more.
If you have half an hour, read Key ideas first. It is eight words you will see everywhere in the app, defined once, plainly. Everything else in this guide makes more sense afterwards.
If you are here to solve one specific problem, use the search box at the top (or press Ctrl+K). It searches this whole site.
Who this guide is not for
Two other guides sit alongside this one, and the links are in the top bar:
- Platform and API is for developers who want to put Asteria Cloud inside their own product.
- Admin Guide is for whoever runs Asteria Cloud for your organisation: adding people, choosing models, watching spend.
You do not need either one to do your job. If something in this guide says "ask your administrator", that is the person those guides are written for.
