Personalization
The section that actually changes your answers, plus the ones that only change how things look.
Two sorts of setting live here. About You and Response Style change what Asteria says. Everything else changes how the app looks or behaves.
Note that this section has a Save Changes button. Nothing here takes effect until you press it.
About You
Three boxes, and the best thirty seconds you will spend in this product.
Occupation. What you do. "Marketing manager at a B2B software company" gets you different answers from "Software engineer", because the same question means different things in each job. Asked about "conversion", one of you means a funnel and the other means a data type.
Preferred name. How Asteria addresses you. Set it if your account name is not what people call you.
Interests and hobbies. Genuinely optional. Occasionally useful for analogies that land, mostly ignorable.
Occupation is the one that matters. It is in front of Asteria on every message, in every conversation, which makes it the cheapest possible improvement to your answers. One sentence, permanent effect.
Response style
Response tone, four presets:

Concise is the one most people end up on once the novelty wears off. If you find yourself skimming past the preamble to reach the answer, switch to it.
Custom instructions is a free text box applied to every conversation. Use it for standing preferences you would otherwise retype forever:
Always give me the answer first and the reasoning after. Use British spelling. When you show numbers, say where they came from. Do not apologise.
This is the personal equivalent of an agent's instructions, and the same advice applies: be specific, and say what to do rather than what to avoid.
Memories
Facts Asteria has picked up about you while you were chatting: that you work on a particular product, that you prefer a particular format, whatever came up.
They are listed here with when each was last updated. Hover one to edit or delete it.
Worth reading occasionally for two reasons:
To correct what is wrong. A fact learned from a one-off conversation can stick around and quietly skew answers. If you spent a week on a project that is now finished, delete it.
To see what it knows. This is the honest list, in plain language, and you can empty it entirely with Clear All.
Appearance
Light or dark.
Background intensity: None (neutral grey), Muted (a subtle tint), or Vivid (a bold one).
Layout colours for the sidebar and main area, set separately for light and dark mode.
Appearance is stored in your browser, not on your account. Sign in on another machine and you get the defaults again. The app tells you this under the setting.
Playful tone
Turns the greetings and the "working on it" messages whimsical. Instead of "Searching the web" you get "Googling on your behalf"; instead of "Running code", "Copy-pasting from Stack Overflow".
Purely cosmetic. It changes none of the answers, only the labels while Asteria works. Off is the safe choice if you screen-share with clients.
Temporary chats
How long a temporary conversation survives without activity: 1 hour or 24 hours. The timer resets every time you send a message.
Only two options, and one hour is the sensible default. Choose 24 if you use temporary chats for a piece of work you return to across a day.
