The chat screen
A tour of the three parts of the main screen and what each one is for.
This is where you will spend most of your time. It has three parts.
Down the left, the sidebar. Everything you have ever done, plus the way in to collections, agents and workspaces. See The sidebar.
In the middle, the conversation. Your messages and the answers, newest at the bottom. While Asteria is working you see what it is doing (reading your documents, running numbers, searching the web) rather than a spinner. See Working with answers.
At the bottom, the message box. Where you type, attach files, pick a model and send. See The message box.
A fourth part appears when it is needed: the Workshop panel slides in from the right when Asteria builds you a document, deck, spreadsheet or diagram. It has its own section.
Tips
Under the message box on a new chat, a single line of advice rotates through about thirty tips: pasting screenshots, correcting an answer mid-run, pinning collections to a workspace. They are short and genuinely worth reading through your first week.
Hide tips turns them off for good. If you want them back, the switch is in your profile.
